VOLUNTEER WITH WE ROCK ATHENS

We Rock Athens can’t exist without our volunteers! All camps, programming, events, and operations are volunteer-led. We believe an important part of our mission includes providing positive role models for our campers, and we’re always looking for new volunteers to help inspire, educate, and empower.

We Rock Athens has a diverse volunteer group. But the one thing we all have in common? We wish a camp like this had been around when we were younger.

Volunteering with We Rock Athens, whether it’s for a day or year-round, is a powerful way to be a force for good in the lives of marginalized youth. It’s an opportunity to step up and become the role models our younger selves needed. Also - it’s a lot of fun! We can’t think of a more rockin’ way to make new friends while making a difference. We Rock Athens celebrates and recognizes volunteers annually with a Volunteer Appreciation Party, as well as through informal gatherings and events throughout the year.

Sign up to help at a one-time event , propose a workshop to teach at camp, or join a team to assist with year-round planning - every helping hand matters and helps keep We Rock Athens rocking!

• We welcome volunteers of all marginalized gender identities, including women, girls, trans, and gender nonconforming adults and youth.

• Many volunteer positions require a background check, especially those that involve interaction with campers.

• New volunteers for camp sessions will be required to attend an orientation session prior to beginning of camp.

Examples of our year-round teams are: Events Team, Program Team, Promotions Team, Grants & Fundraising Team, and Outreach Team. Camp volunteer opportunities include providing instrument instruction, providing campers assistance/guidance, or supporting camp staff during camp week. Examples of one-time volunteer opportunities might be helping out at a fundraiser, helping run the merch table at events, or sharing your expertise at a workshop. We also have internship opportunities available for local college students.
